What to expect from Instagram Reels this year

Let's Get Real About Instagram Reels. Similar to TikTok, with it's quick-to-create video format, Instagram reels is sure to shake-up the world of social media and business marketing this year.
This new way to record 15 to 30-second clips on Instagram promises a future of new and creative marketing campaigns for creators, influencers and corporations. Here are a few things we are looking forward to the most.
New Instagram Ad Formats for Reels
According to a recent report, 75% of Instagram users take action, such as visiting a website or making a purchase, after looking at an Instagram ad.
Instagram Reels and Stories are similar in many ways. What's exciting is how native the Instagram Story Ad format can look, when done correctly. If Reels Ads look just as cohesive with a subtle "sponsor" tag in the corner, just imagine the possibilities of a 15sec video campaign.
This addition could become a real game-changer for advertisers. Image the benefits of being able to showcase a product on reels with a link that directly adds the product to a cart, all without leaving the app.
Since Reels has their own dedicated explore page, it would be extremely easy for new users to find your product.
New Quick Edit Tools for Videos on Reels
TikTok has a masterful selection of video editing tools, from voice effects to applying AR filters and colour correction options, you footage can be quickly created in one app and all within a few minutes. It's clear that Instagram Reels has a lot of catching up to do.
We are hoping to see a voiceover tool on Reels for 2021. This will allow brands to create product walk-throughs and micro-vlogs with their own favourite sound. As it is, business accounts don't have access to music on Instagram Reels yet. This additional tool would fill a large gap in the editing process.
Though these are just rumors, and there are still many more potential changes that can be discussed, we are incredibly excited to see how Instagram Reels grows this year.
