An established insurance brand entering its next growth market.
the client
The client was a large insurance and financial services organization with more than 220 retail locations across eight states, an established franchise network and a growing digital sales channel.
With significant scale already established in mature markets, Texas represented an important expansion opportunity.
The mandate was not simply to generate awareness. It was to establish an approach that could build local relevance, support customer acquisition and give leadership a clearer view of how marketing investment was translating into commercial growth.
the challenge
The business needed to determine how much of the existing marketing model should carry forward, where the market required a different approach and how investment should be concentrated as performance data emerged.
Three questions shaped the work:
Where should the business concentrate its marketing investment?
How should the established brand translate into a new market?
How could marketing performance be connected more clearly to quotes, transfers and new business?
The challenge was therefore not simply campaign execution.
It was establishing a clearer set of decisions around market entry, positioning, investment and measurement.
My approach
Strategy before activity.
Texas was treated as a distinct go-to-market challenge—not an extension of the existing campaign calendar.
Market Strategy
Clarify where and how to compete.
Assess the market opportunity, customer context and acquisition priorities to focus resources where they could have the greatest commercial impact.
Positioning & Demand
Build relevance and translate it into action.
Adapt messaging for Texas and align paid media and digital acquisition with quotes, warm transfers and retail conversion.
Investment & Measurement
Use performance to guide the next decision.
Manage investment against commercial outcomes, using quote activity, transfers and new business to inform where to maintain, adjust or expand spend.
the result
A Stronger Market.
A clearer path to scale.
Texas delivered 98.09% year-over-year growth during the expansion period.
Across the wider organization, new business and rewrites grew 46% year over year, while online quotes and warm transfers increased 109.32%.
More importantly, the work created a clearer connection between market strategy, marketing investment and commercial performance — giving leadership stronger information for future growth decisions.
